Miriam Yeung Is Singer With Most Mosts

TVB held a press conference for the forthcoming Jade Solid Gold Top Ten Awards <十大勁歌金曲頒獎典禮> today and a vote was held among the singers to select their candidates for some fun "most" award categories.

Hacken Lee (李克勤) voted for himself as the "singer who wants an award most badly" and laughed that he has to make more money now that he has an extra mouth to feed.

Meanwhile, Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅) came away with three titles - "singer with most rice [money]" together with Eason Chan (陳奕迅), "singer with the most headlines" and "singer who is most fun to be with". She laughed that she has cut out starch from her diet, so she does not have any rice at all. She added that she is not rich and makes only enough to eat and when asked if she was eating abalone and fish maw every day, she said that these foods have too much protein, so she doesn't eat them either and would rather save the money for her family.

Eason seemed a little uncomfortable at being voted as having the most money and pointed out that many of the truly rich singers such as Juno Mak (麥浚龍) were not present, raising a round of applause as other stars agreed with him. He also nominated Juno as the "most active singer" and said that he shows a great sincerity to his music and does not abuse his position of having enough money and backing to do whatever he wants.

The "most loving father" title went jointly to Hacken and Eason. Eason felt that Hacken was more deserving because he seems to be more caring. Eason described himself as being a strict father, but also a fun father. As Andy Lau (劉德華) will not be taking part in the awards this year, there is a high chance that Eason will be awarded the Asia Pacific Most Popular Male Singer award this year. Asked if he was confident about this, Eason said that he was a step ahead of Hacken because he had released a Mandarin album this year, but Leo Ku (古巨基) is also in the running.

With Miriam and Joey Yung (容祖兒) in the running for the female Asia Pacific award, Denise Ho (何韻詩) said that it would be deserving for either of them to win, but she is out of the running herself. She said that it would be good if they were both to win, but it does not matter who wins. As for her own progress slowing down a little this year, Denise said that as she has only released one album, she has an average score, but she is more concerned about having fun along the way and even if she wins all the awards, she would still not be happy if she had not enjoyed the process.

Gillian Chung (鍾欣桐) has been rumoured to have spent HK$28 million on two luxury apartments recently and when asked about this, she admitted it silently and said that she is seeing the purchase as an investment, so she will not be living in those apartments. Asked how many she has in total, she said that she only has these two, but everything is being dealt with by her mother. As for her being a showbiz tycoon, Gillian said impatiently that reporters can write what they like. When she heard this, Charlene Choi (蔡卓妍) said quickly that the reporters shouldn't write what they like, otherwise the tax man would be knocking on their doors.
