Miriam Yeung @ Cultural Show & 7th Chinese Music Media Awards To celebrate Hong Kong Handover 10th anniversary, a countdown and 7th Chinese Music Media Awards was held in Tsuen Wan. Although it was raining, 500 audience caught the show with umbrellas and raincoats. After atttended the cultural show at Convention Centre, Miriam rushed to the countdown event at Tsuen Wan. She specially went to a branded shop and spent $28000 on a new gown that day. Miriam described the high security at the cultural show because China's president Hu Jintao was present. Miriam had the honour of shaking hands with Hu Jintao but due to the short time, she just looked at him and said "Hi President Hu." "It was just 4seconds and I couldn't feel anything except I was like a respectful student. The whole night was grand and serious." Miriam paid special attention to the 4 heavenly king's performance. They have not been on stage together since a long time ago. When they were raised on stage, the feeling was powerful. Miriam performed "Small City Big Matter" and then "Love is invinsible" together with Kelly Chen, Joey Yung and Twins. Some people said when Miriam was singing on stage, her expression was nervous and lacked smile. She explained it was to suit her new album's image, to portray a more serious side of her. After Miriam rushed to the show at Tsuen Wan, she received "My Favourite Female Singer" and "Media Award", her first awards sinced joining Leon Lai's company. People said Leon has been titled as "King of Golden Words", Miriam said Leon has special views and reasonings. When she don't understands, she'll keep asking like a troublesome kid. Miriam who is holding her concert in October, realised Eason Chan is also having a concert that time, "He holds concerts everyday. We always hear him sing when filming. It's no difference from singing in the Coliseum. If I knew earlier both are in October we could have open together. Maybe now he is blocking I can't add additional shows."
