Miriam Awarded the title of "Honorary Fellow" After Miriam became 2005's "Hong Kong Outstanding Youth", she was awarded the title of "Honorary Fellow" by Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, to commenmorate her achievements and contributions to the society. The ceremony started in the morning at 10am and East Asia's boss Lin Jianyue attended too with a bouquet of flowers. Other than him, Miriam's parents, godmother and good friends were present as well. Miriam was a registered nurse at Princess Margaret Hospital. Polytechnic University appointed Miriam as "Institute ambassador" to help the university promote health and medical messages to the public. Miriam was nervous and almost teared when receiving the certificate and giving her speech. She expressed that after receiving the certificate, she will never be lazy and will work hard in promoting social services. When asked if Miriam wish to be a "World Outstanding Youth" next, she replied that she has never thought so and she won't give herself pressure. She hopes to have a chance to study Chinese medicine and best to have distant learning through internet so that she can have the flexibility of time to study slowly. She said that Chinese medicine helped her a lot in recuperation and can cure dropsy. She thought if she had continued to be a nurse, she believe she would have already got married and gave birth. But for her life now, she described, "Life now is a bit uninhibited and not affected by over-detailed formalities."
