21 Jun – Rumours are rife that Marvel is looking to cast martial arts actor Donnie Yen in its upcoming Chinese superhero movie, "Shang-Chi". As reported on HK01, while details about the project are currently kept under wraps, many are speculating that Marvel is courting the "Ip Man" star for the role of Shang-Chi's father, Dr. Fu Manchu. The antagonistic character is described as a scholar who has all the scientific knowledge of ancient and modern China and is trained in martial arts. In previous reports, it was rumoured that Marvel is also eyeing Canadian actor Ludy Lin to play the titular superhero. Lin is known for his role in 2018's "Aquaman" and was most recently seen in the first episode of "Black Mirror" Season 5.
