Sunday March 16, 2008 Hong Kong A number of high profile events were held on Friday as part of the grand opening presentation of the Louis Vuitton flagship store in Tsimshatsui yesterday. These included the unveiling of Chow Yun Fat (周潤發)'s photographic exhibition and a grand opening ceremony at the store and culminated in a star-studded private party in the evening at the West Kowloon Reclamation Site. The events were hosted by Benoit Louis Vuitton, a member of the sixth generation of the Louis Vuitton family. The vast guest lists included celebrities from across Asia, such as Chow and his wife Jasmine Tan (陳薈蓮), Zhang Ziyi (章子怡), Michelle Yeoh (楊紫瓊), Vic Zhou (周渝民), Lee Jun Ki (李準基), Choi Ji-Woo (崔智友) and Hidetoshi Nakata (中田英壽). Appearing from head to toe in LV designerwear, Chow and Jasmine were asked if their fee for taking part was astronomical. Chow smiled as he replied that it was not the case and he was primarily taking part because of the support that the company had shown him for his photographic exhibition. Jasmine was asked to rate her husband's photographic skills and she replied that she would only give him 10% because he has plenty of room for improvement. She also laughed that Chow likes to photograph her more comical side, such as when she is having a facial. Zhang was also surrounded by reporters, keen to find out more about recent rumours about an engagement to venture capitalist boyfriend Vivi Nevo and also her collaboration with Wendi Deng Murdoch (鄧文迪) to invest in a film production company. She explained that she has not yet started her company yet, but she has great hopes for Chinese films. As for her engagement, she did not respond directly and simply smiled saying she has nothing planned just yet, but is very happy at the moment. Lee was dressed as Prince Charming for the event and was very complimentary about the sponsor's products, saying that he loves the simple, but elegant designs. He added that he is an avid collector of LV bags and if he has a girlfriend, he will buy her plenty of LV products as gifts. Vic mentioned that the reason behind his support for the label was due to the support that they give to environmental causes. He added that another reason for his trip from Taiwan was to meet his idols, Chow and Michelle. He appeared to have an outbreak of spots on his face and he explained that this was due to the stress of his work recently, which as spanned both day and night. Asked if this was also caused by the stress of his recent split from girlfriend Barbie Hsu (徐熙媛), Vic said that this was not the case. credits: batgwa.
