Viewers not only found that Lee had break through his directing limit, actor Tony Leung and actress Tang Wei also have a breakthrough performance. In addition to Tang Wei's all nude scenes, Tony Leung also show his lowerbody for this film the first time in his life. Their sex scenes in this film were very bold. Damn I knew this was gonna be good, but not THAT good! Hope Ang Lee gets the recognition he deserves (although recently, the Academy wouldn't know a good movie if it slapped them in the face--yes I'm still bitter that Crouching Tiger lost, lol).
