Tuesday April 15, 2008 Hong Kong (from left: Liza Wang, Chow Yun Fatt, Joey Yung, Eric Tsang, Lydia Shum, Kelly Chen, etc) A Hong Kong famous painter, Liu Yu and his daughter Hao Mei, painted a large pavilion painting to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the reunification of Hong Kong with China. Spanning over an area of 7.1m x 2.8m, the painting,《盛世明珠》, it currently hold the record of being the largest oil painting. It also hold the record for the most people painted in an oil painting. It depicts the history of Hong Kong. In 1997, a painting that marked the reunification of HK with China had a price tag of 25 million HK Dollars. 《盛世明珠》includes 500 important individuals in HK celebritie, state leaders, Hong Kong SAR Government officials, successful businessmen, sport stars. It also presented new iconic landmarks in Hong Kong, such as the Golden Bauhinia Square, Zhongying international financial centre, the Yangtze Building and HK Disneyland. Man, that would be absolutely awesome to see in person. It's been painted so much in detail that that you can actually recognise some of the faces in there.
7.2 m x 2.8m, that is huge.... well it has his little price ticket € 2.5 mil.... Even if someone would buy it, it would be troublesome to transport it The painter still did a great job painting it, I wouldn't want to stare at those faces.....painting those persons must a taken a awfull lots of time....-unsure
wow....nice painting, if you like art check out this guy "Stephen Wiltshire" they flew him on a helicopter around the city of london, then after he was able to draw it from memory, this guy has photographic memory!!! he suffers from autism but he is very talented
