Sunday March 16, 2008 Hong Kong Kevin Cheng Ka Wing attended an event promoting public recycling yesterday. Since TVB's founder, Sir Run Run Shaw, has been hospitalized recently, there have been numerous speculations about his condition taking a drastic turn. Was Kevin aware of Sir Run Run Shaw's current health condition? Kevin said, "I am concerned about Mr. Shaw. Since I can not do much, I can only pray for his early recovery." The ending for "The Seventh Day" 《最美麗的第七天》will be broadcast tonight. Kevin will be meeting with the cast and crew of "The Seventh Day" to view the finale and have dinner together. He indicated that a celebratory dinner does not require high ratings. "The entire cast and crew put in their efforts. Now that the audience is finally able to view the series, we should celebrate the occasion. Perhaps this is the first time that we are holding a celebratory dinner despite the ratings not being too good." Kevin expressed disappointment in the ratings for "The Seventh Day." The audience's viewing preferences were difficult to predict. In the future when Kevin is asked about projections for a series' ratings, he intends to respond in a neutral manner. credits: jayne.

surprised I thought this series would have high ratings because everyone in HK loves Kevin Cheng and Niki Chow in Under the Canopy of Love, I guess HK viewers do not like repetition...I kind of understand why this series has less ratings...compared to UTCOL it has less of a plot and substance.
Even though The Seventh Day was a good series and was pretty sad in the end. Different people have different concepts of what they like. To make the viewer satisfied, the series has to have a good plot. But most importantly, the casts is what makes the series fantastic to watch.
This series was ok and i think the ratings reflect that. Series these days tend to have poorer ratings cos the scripts arent that good, and since TVB tend to cast new actors/actresses I havent been watching as much as i use to cos alot of the new generation actors arent that good and they sorta put me off watching.
i enjoyed the series especially the Sasa and Don part. I don't like sad endings; so naturally i hated the ending. as for the plot, it's pretty normal .. nothing special. u kinda able to guess the ending ... well, one way or the other. so i'm not surprise with the ratings.
Actually tis series is nice and good, but dun know why, the rating is not tat good.. i finish tis series ler..is nice... love the 2 couples alot..
I am not suprise with the rating at all. I hate the ending of the series. THere is nothing beautiful about it since Niki is death leaving Kevin all alone.
i thought that this series was rather gd to watch. the ratings are low bcos possibly that the ending wasn't the best and also the lighting of the series could have put ppl off. furthermore, i guess as this wasn't completely original ppl therefore didn't bother to watch it in the first place cos its another drama about love.
Apart from the above mentioned reasons, the marketing of it & the timeslot which it aired was a big factor. Time & time again this series was delayed being aired last yr. This was made in 2006-early 07. It took a yr for them to put them out to public. The popular magazines have been following the filming during 2006-07 with behind the scenes, but it took until now for public airing. The marketing timeframe has been stretched too long, there is no longer the 'excitingly new' factor anymore, becos ppl prob know the storyline by then or seen enuf tmes of them in shopping centres promoting. The timeslot in HK for TSD was 9.30pm, when basically everyones finished dinner & young ppl gone to either do study, gone out whilst older audiences may not be so interested. For UTCL, the story quality was not as good, but it was sorta 'hot & fresh' in the marketing campaign period in magazines etc, so ratings were higher.
is one of the worse drama ever made..the lightings are darn bad...even thou the actor and actress are very pretty and handsome..
