So... I got new glasses last week. I just recently took a close look at my old glasses and they are totally destroyed. The finish is wearing off, the nose pads are ugly, and overall they look like shit... I've read around and I'm starting to wash my glasses daily with dish-washing soap. I was wondering what you guys do to keep your glasses clean and last longer? I mean at near $200-$300 a pair... =\
now that i remember one of my pairs is 4 yrs nearly 5 years old but still doing good....I wash them when lens are actually dirty, guess every other day, other times use the cloth they provide to wipe ur lens. That's how i clean mine, didn't pay special care just treat them casually, sometimes too causal like using other fabrics to clean or never wash them in weeks ==.....bad behaviors
lens - my optometrist usually gave me a bottle of lens cleaning solution. so i just that to clean my lens nose piece - i usually take it in every 6 mos or so to my optometrist and they will replace and clean the frame area that holds the nose piece. readjust etc for free. free service - maybe because i usually buy my frames with 2 years warranty. and i go in every 2 years to the same place for eye exams and get new glasses. and I usually pay about USD300-USD400 after insurance. i'm guessing that's why they don't mind giving me the extra service for free.
I wash them with my facial wash when I am in the shower. I don't fancy having dish-washing soap residue touching my face...
