Karena Ng and Raymond Lam Are Engaged?

While at a birthday party on Christmas Eve, Karena Ng (吳千語) was spotted with a diamond ring on her right hand, leading to speculations that she is now engaged to boyfriend Raymond Lam (林峯).

On Christmas Eve, hostess/actress Priscilla Ku (顧紀筠) arranged a party at the Grand Hyatt to celebrate her husband, Chen Shiwei’s (陳仕偉), sixtieth birthday. Although many couples were in attendance, including singer/actress Cally Kwong (鄺美雲) and boyfriend Lam Tat Man (林達民), as well as Patrick Tse (謝賢) and ex-wife Deborah Lee (狄波拉) with their respective families, the most eye-catching duo was 34-year-old Raymond and 20-year-old Karena.

Arriving around 9 p.m., the couple remained close to each other throughout the night, with Raymond often lightly keeping a hand on Karena’s waist, as if afraid she would fall. Although they turned down all media interviews, they gamely posed for photographs and spent much of the night gazing at each other.

At one point, Karena raised her right hand to run her fingers through her hair, generously showing off the diamond ring on her ring finger.

When asked if the ring was an engagement gift from Raymond, Karena declined to answer. Her manager, Carmen, later explained, “[They] currently do not have plans to get married. She didn’t want to answer who sent her the ring, because she didn’t want to steal the limelight at someone else’s event.”

Despite TVB’s requests that its artists keep a low-profile regarding their love life, Raymond and Karena have always been quite open about their relationship and have often been spotted vacationing together. Though there has been no official word from them yet, it appears as though the two are prepared to seriously commit to each other.
