Friday, May 9, 2008 Hong Kong Justin Lo (側田) and his friends have been accused of assaulting a taxi driver and failing to pay a taxi fare, reported The Sun. Justin and a group of two men and two women caught a taxi to get from one bar to another in Causeway Bay, in the early hours Thursday. One of the females, who was sat in the back seat, allegedly grabbed the taxi driver, Mr Cheung, around the chest. The driver, who recognized Justin, stopped the vehicle, said he felt he was being sexually harassed and called the police. The passengers left the taxi without paying the HK$16 fare. A spokesperson for Justin, Ms Chan, told the newspaper that Justin and his friends had been out drinking in high spirits, but said that they were still alert. She denied that the girl had harassed the driver and said that the girl had only touched the driver's shoulder. Ms Chan said: "Justin was puzzled as to why the driver reacted so exaggeratedly with such a fierce temper. At the time, Justin was very shocked and did not say anything." She added: "Besides, Justin did not know the girl – she was a friend of a friend. The two male friends tried to be peacemakers, but the taxi driver insisted on calling the police. In such a chaotic situation, everyone left, inadvertently forgetting to pay the fare." Meanwhile, the police confirmed that someone had filed a report about taxi fare evasion. When The Sun called Mr Cheung, he said he reserves the right to pursue the matter further. Justin was scheduled to appear at a press conference in Macau, Thursday, but cancelled.
