Thursday November 22, 2007 Hong Kong Joey Yung (容祖兒) will be appearing in concert from 25 to 30 January 2008. The seven show series Starlight Joey Yung Concert 08 <Starlight 容祖兒演唱會08> was promoted at a special press event yesterday, where some achievements of Joey's record sales were also announced. At the event, Joey wore a beautiful red dress sponsored by Valentino worth HK$60,000 and also HK$2 million worth of jewellery sponsored by EEG boss Albert Yeung (楊受成) emerging elegantly from a giant crown. She revealed that she has never worn such expensive diamond earrings before and joked that she will be cheeky and ask Mr Yeung to give her a set as a gift. Joey revealed that the set and costume designs for her concert are like a portfolio and is comparable to the many colourful and unusual designs that were displayed at Aaron Kwok (郭富城)'s concert last week. She said she did not know how sexy her outfits will be yet, but she says she has no limits and is prepared to do what she needs to to make her show a success. As this is Joey's sixth concert series, she hopes to bring something fresh to her audience. She also added that she does not plan to invite any guests because she wants this show to be about her and her music. During her eight years in the industry, Joey has had some remarkable achievements and it was revealed at the event that she has sold over 4 million copies of her albums over that time and her songs have been top of the popularity charts on 72 occasions. She has also won over 300 awards in that time. Joey expressed how happy she felt when she heard all the figures. Asked about progress of the recent incidents involving her father and grandmother leading to her family life and past being profiled in the tabloid magazines, Joey said that this was to be expected and she will not comment any more because she wants to concentrate her efforts on the concert. As for whether her family will be supporting her at the show, she smiled that they definitely would. credits: batgwa.
