In the last 5 years, Joey Yung (容祖兒) and Denise Ho’s (何韻詩) relationship was speculated to be more intimate than regular friends. At Joey’s birthday party last week, Denise felt betrayed and deeply hurt when she found out that Joey and Wilfred Lau (劉浩龍) were now hotly in love. The love triangle has resulted in fans taking sides and blasting Wilfred for being a “liar,” while warning Joey to be cautious in trusting him! Denise Ho Also Dated Wilfred Lau? Further complicating the love triangle, Denise Ho had allegedly dated Wilfred Lau in the late 1990s. Denise and Wilfred were respective winners of the 1996 and 1997 New Talent Singing Awards. Denise had once described her friendship with Wilfred in the following manner, “He is a friend with whom I had shared hardship. Since we were newcomers, we have experienced difficult periods together. He cares a lot for me and I care a lot for him!” In 2005, Wilfred started dating Stephanie Cheng (鄭融). At this time, Denise and Joey’s romantic rumors became more prominent. Since Wilfred was good friends with Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒), Joey and Wilfred met frequently at group gatherings, allowing their friendship to grow over the last 10 years. Wilfred said, “I’m quite happy!” Asked whether he had passed the 3-month trial period, Wilfred said, “We have to pass it before we know!” Wilfred said that he has known Joey for 10 years and understood her well. “She is a good girl; many people like her. I also like her very much. I have not dated for 4 years. If I were to come across a suitable prospect, I would love to ‘understand more.’” Wilfred was prepared to deal with the public pressure after acknowledging that he was dating Joey. Allegedly, Denise did not arrive at the birthday party until 2 AM. When Denise walked in, a drunk Joey told Denise that she and Wilfred were now dating. With Denise’s obvious distress, Joey pulled Denise to the side and continued to console her. Meanwhile, Wilfred continued to party wildly with the other guests. After this version of the story circulated, fans were quick to blast Wilfred as a liar. He had initially claimed that he told Denise about dating Joey, yet it was actually Joey who had announced the hurtful news to Denise. Wilfred had only made such a statement in order to fully stand behind Joey. After Joey consoled her, Denise stayed at Joey’s birthday party until 5 AM, pretending that nothing had happened.
