Jaw pain = Wisdom Tooth?

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by hadouken, Mar 19, 2007.

  1. man i've been having some pain on my left jaw starting last weak but it was very weak so today i woke up and its been hurting like hell. It feels like my left jaw is very tired like i've chewed on bubble gum all day and cant chew anymore with some radiating pain going up to my ear. I know u guys arent dentists but is that wisdom too pain or could it be a cavity?

If it doesn't look like u have a cavity (it would have to be actual rotting for it to cause that much pain?) then it's probably your wisdom tooth growing..if you don't see it growing..then the gum should at least be hard and numb...and then the pain will go away..then it'll come back..and before you know it..u'll see your teeth growing ..at least that's my experience not too long ago. =P

  3. yea, its the same with me. if it starts ringing in your ear, it must be the wisdom, because those teeth are tight against the nerves in your jaw, which is connected to your nerves in the ear area.

do check with the dentist. because if you dont remove your wisdom, its gonna rot behind your mouth (unreachable by tooth brush), and it rubs against crucial nerves in your jaw.

I am no dentist, but I heard that if the pain persists for more than 3 days, you are sensitive to cold/hot/sour food/drink (that includes soda), it's a cavity.

The pain for wisdom teeth come and go depending on your gum movements to accommodate the teeth.
