French people also draw anime. With a lot of practice anyone can draw like the japanese artist. Korean also makes anime and manga but no as much.

Lol.. You know anyone I mean anyone can draw well it's just that the Japanese were raised in that environment and that makes then used to drawing like that.. What we see is what we draw.

korean's anime and manga standard is eon of years from achieving jap standard. Maybe its a culture thingy...i read some korean manga and just find it downright boring. Dunno whether its because the plot stinks or just the drawing is the same all way round.

It's crazy how in Japan the voice actors (for the anime) are like movie stars there.

I don't think there is a particular gift of drawing endowed in the Japanese population. Just that Japan has the biggest, most mature market of Manga/Anime = the 1% which has got good drawing skills and good story line gets noticed, and the rest is just negligible.

Anyone has a more in-depth knowledge of the Japanese Manga/Anime scene knows that there are HUNDREDS of weekly manga serials (magazines, whatnot), which at least equates to THOUSANDS of ongoing manga series. Is every one of them equally good or equally intriguing? Not really.

It's kind of like how some people only seeing a few Chinese actor/actress and start exclaiming "OMG, Chinese people are beautiful/talented". I mean, how DIFFICULT is it to find 1 talented beautiful actor/actress in that 1 billion+ population?

A member mentioned Korean/Chinese/Taiwanese/Hong Kong Manga/Anime, but the problem is that it didn't proliferate until the market is developed by Japanese manga. Which means that many budding comicker (people who draws manga/anime or writes storylines) are under HEAVY influence of the masters that is the Japanese comickers. You can just TELL from their story, drawing style etc.

I'm sure it's not only Japanese that can draw well. It's just that people from different cultures draw in different styles and I guess anime/manga style is the most popular and well known, leading to people thinking that people in Japan draw especially well. Besides, not all manga drawings are nice right from the beginning, if you follow one authors creations through the years, you can see improvement as the go. :)
