  3. there is.. but won't allow you to play backups and is used to flash firmwares which pple have yet to find an exploit for.

    i dont know why a hardware mod would be necessary, im sure someone will come out with a software mod that allows you to play burned games though, however when/if it happens you will need a BD burner anyway

  5. it'll most likey run from the HDD first..

    is there any point on getting a PS3 modded as yet to be honest with Blu Ray media / burners being excessively expensive ???

    if you could download a game and load it onto a USB memory stick then transfer to the HDD, that would be money

  9. cept usb drives dont come in 25gigs.. lol

    hey fearless go check your ps3 box and tell me what code is on your BOX!!

    ye true, it won't be a while till a mod comes out but when it does i reckon the blu ray burners will then be considerably cheaper in cost.

    it's goin to be a while before mod's come out for the ps3...i'd reckon people might do what they did with the ps2 and a network drive. Have the system pull iso files from the network or download the files to the HDD and play from there...but we gotta get pass the issue of getting a BD player/burner for the pc to rip the files before this will become a reality

    actually i think cos there is a hdd in the ps3, ppl are prob gonna find a way for the ps3 to get games from the internet straight onto the hdd. only problem is the files will be very large and may not fit the hdd, then again it will be a long while before developers actually use the full potential of the blu-ray disc and create a game which actually takes up that much space. currently the games prob will take no more than a dual layer dvd disc in size i reckon.

  17. You can easily replace the current HDD with a higher capacity one.... the HDD is basically a regular LAPTOP HDD -_-;;

    ye i know, but those hdd aren't that large at the mo but ye in the future it seems that playing games from the hdd will be what is used rather than burning games onto blu-ray discs i reckon.

    ha, is true that the whole superfluous mod chip is useless. We would need a bigger, better, faster internet provider just to download PS3 games. The month payment would be sky high, so might as well just buy the games.
