Believing in GOD is a human condition and a human invention.
I say, has anyone seen or heard of any animals/plants that builds churches and worships a deity?

God is the name given by those needing the justification -- to kill, to consume others, to exploit others, to discriminate others. There may very well be a higher power if human beings do not exist, but sure as hell where ever there is human, there will be a God to be worshipped.
On second thought, human beings are quite pathetic -- needing some omnious higher power to justify their existence.

  3. lol i take it hiake is atheist??

Yes, gender's female. And no, I try not to worship celebrities. I worship beauty though :p

  9. so what's your idea of beauty??

maybe if God was rockin' a suit instead??

Okay, hopefully I won't get warned for talking OT here -unsure , but my idea of beauty is the quiet blossoming and withering of nature in unobserved solitude. Don't you think destruction is equally mesmerising as birth, the way things just pop into existence and then cease to exist all of a sudden? Some may attribute it to the magic touch of God or some such, but I rather think it's just natural progression. Things is, and then they isn't anymore.
To me, that is the essence of existence, one KNOWS for certain that things won't be forever. -mellow
And to think, the so-called art were a record of that beauty. -cool

  11. flame on? this is a religious forum, were all happy and calm here :)

has anyone heard of animals/plants making anything??? i guess nothing exists ehh?

God created humans, that alone should indicate that he existed before humans, maybe i read the question wrong! lol

as a christian i can say that religion and denominations are all man made, all we need is a relationship with God.

i dont intend in scaring anyone, but can you non believers imagine dieing and realising that there is a God, the first thing that wil come to mind is "what about that hell i never believe in?". imagine finding yourself in that hell, an eternal hell that you could have so easily escaped if you looked past youself and seeked Jesus. in this eternal hell you will remember times when people tried to tell you about Jesus, you will remember reading this very post and possibly more in the future, who will be to blame, you or God?.

if your correct and God doesnt exist then fine, we all die and float in some blind cosmic energy or you just get annihilated. BUT if im correct.........

i hope you guys ask Jesus to show himself to you, just ask and he will show you he exists.

    laterz

    nyckeion ....Boo....

so in another sense we should be believeing instead of disbelieving for a JUST IN CASE thing right... then how about this all the fun things that you could have done but you didnt do because you believe in jesus. I mean like lots of things i mean sex before marriage... lets just say you didnt take a offer of being a girl you really liked since you guys wernt married and she left you cause of that and at the end there is no heaven then what?

  13. then it wouldnt matter cus i would be dead, no heaven no hell, no Jesus, a wasted life but after death i would have no consience of how i lived my life. i guess.

in a way its a win-win situation for me, but a terrible risk for you.

hope i answered your question correctly

human need to believe in something to go on their life..because this is the condition of being an human..put all our hope in something that doesn't really exist and is virtual...because then we can think that it have somewhere an explication of the life ..like what happen and why....u can be an atheist but in depth of u somewhere u khnow that u believe a little in god or something similar

Whether there is a higher being, as far as I know, no one can tell. Sure, you hear people say they have died and gone to heaven and come back to talk about it. But, how true is it or is it just the dying brain activity that's causing that? Humans need to know there's a higher being that will help you do things. Humans need to know there's someone watching over them. There's undoubtedly some religion that uses God as a controlling tool - to control your lives, the people you associate with, the things you do. Politicians uses religious beliefs and "convictions" to win votes. But once they win, how many of them actually did what they promise to do in the name of God and religion. I guess I can't help but to wonder if religion is some tool that a few uses to manipulate others. And I can't help to wonder if that's what humans really need. Something that you can hold close to your heart ... a certain glimpse of hope.

  17. religion and a relationship with Lord Jesus are 2 different things. All i can say is within 100 years ALL of us will know if theres a heaven and hell. if there is then alot of people are gona be in trouble by the looks of it but right now we all still have time.

i say 100 years because all current viewers on these forums will be dead before then , getting cryogenically frozen wont hep, youll just be dead with a frozen body lol

You said it with eloquence -- religion and faith is the life line most hang on to to be a good and moral being. I am just annoyed by the self-righteous my God is better than your God BS.

Well, if all goes well, I probably won't be around to see the heavenly gate of the promised land, no expectations there, no failed hope. But too bad to the ones who are hopeful of it.

  19. you will be around hiake, you ever heard of the resurection, as for seeing the heavenly gates, currently i really dont think you will, but when jesus returns you will be here 100% regardless of what you do to your body.

did you have a bad expierience with religion or do you feel you would have to sacrifice too much of your current lifestyle to serve Jesus?.

Oh, I've heard of the resurrection a-plenty. And seeing Jesus's return, I am certainly uninterested, long as it doesn't bring another catastrophe to the already-fragile world -- ever since recorded history, "miracles" has only ended in chaos.
I see enough hypocrisy in religion and read about enough bloodshed in the name of God to be skeptical. And surprisingly, besides the fact that I don't go to church, I keep a remarkably moderated lifestyle, so the "sacrifices" is not exactly a concern to me.
I know I shouldn't be encouraging this. This discussion is getting quite pointless. But I maintain my view: God is the name given by those needing the justification -- to kill, to consume others, to exploit others, to discriminate others. There may very well be a higher power if human beings do not exist, but sure as hell where ever there is human, there will be a God to be worshipped.
