Infrared or Night vision? :S

    what's the difference between infrared camera's and night vision? or are they the same..
    i think i need some security cameras soon.. and wasn't sure which one to get.. i want the one that can see in the dark without lights.. lol. not sure what it's called though. and any recommendations?

    im not too sure which one is better, but i think u should test out the image quality of the security cameras and their ability to record in the dark first before buying.

    Well, if you're looking to identify the person(s), then you're going to want night vision. While infrared just displays heat sources, ie: no faces, you only see someone breaking into your house or whatever. High quality night vision should suffice if you're trying to catch a crook (assuming there's been break-ins around your neighborhood). Also, be sure you don't get cheap night vision because recently there have been a few break-ins around my neighborhood and they had crappy night vision cameras, the victims showed the tapes to the cops, and they couldn't identify them.
