I don't even think Girl's Day won anything with Ring My Bell. At that level of fame, even with a debatable shitty song like Ring My Bell (I liked it better than Darling..), you should expect to win something. They got swept by Girls Generation that week if I remember.
Girl's Day's song wasn't that great. There fan base is still no where close to the top girl groups. GG would eat them up and spit their bones out... Hyuna is popular and it depends who she's up against.

The fancafe ranking could be taken as a representation of fans in Korea. Of course only SNSD and 2NE1 are probably the only two groups capable of international tours, but this list is only Korean fans.. Girl's Day are pretty much a top girl group. Sure you have an outlier with SISTAR, but their recent song didn't chart that well actually. They were just ahead of all the girl group comeback and was able to snag up the awards before anyone. Hyuna is popular, but if Hyuna and SNSD are nominated at the same time, Hyuna has no chance. Taeyeon has 4mil+ followers on instagram and Hyuna has 2mil~. So if soshi eats Girls Day up, they'll eat Hyuna up as well. Edit: Not saying it's impossible for her to win, but it'll be really tough for her to win if they're both nominated and eligible for the first time. It's all about timing your comebacks unless you're a power group.
I think you summed it up right there. Hyuna is great ... but SNSD have far too many followers for them to be taken out IMO. If they took out girl's day, they'll take out Hyuna (even though i'd really like her to take it) easy
I look forward to f(x), Red Velvet, or even 4Minute follow up song more than anything now. 4Minute's Crazy (and even the whole mini-album) was great in my opinion. And with 4Minute's Crazy concept, Hyuna stage presence was amplified.
The mini Album seemed like more of a 4minute teaser than anything. IF they can bring out mor , would be good and it's definitely a Hyuna catalyst
