i think we're natrually good but we also have alot of bad sides like greed and hate which then leads to racism and murder also then influence on other minds and it keeps going like a bad plague.

    i agree with moki.

  5. It seems to be the greed that always overwhelms the good in people. It is also incredible how much beliefs can influence a group. just look at history, and it is crazy how many wars and uneccesary murders have been caused by religion, or wearing the wrong color shirt, or having a different skin color.

I don't think we are born innately good or bad. I think we are basically indifferent and uncorrupted by society. I strongly believe that our genetic makeup has a huge influence on how we react and function in our society, which creates our personalities. Another major factor is our upbringing. There's a study/report found that distruptive childhoods are correlated with psychopaths. A lot of the serial killers present did not have the best childhood.

i agree with your statement. but most parents raise up their kids with the best intentions in mind. wouldnt that be displaying good human nature?

one assumes most parents raise kids with best intention in mind....

  16. so how much does media play a role in shaping a child's thoughts? Everyone loves to use media as a scapegoat

I think genetics does play a role. There are other factors to these kids lives, like outside of school and how they function in that sort of society. Some kids are more prone to peer pressure while others aren't. It's all in the type of person we are.

i believe its the combination of both nature and nurture. my thesis would always be that.. or something similar to that.

    okay, newbie here..

so first of all, whats ur definition of good and bad? good as in not corrupted, non faering of things, non greedy, etc?

so lets see, personally i believe that human nature is like clay. as the person grows, the things around him/her will affect how he/she is molded, therefore people can't say that human are born good, nor bad because i don't believe so, and to illustrate this point i havethis question: does baby steal? no!

i know what u might be thinking that he is unable to, and all infants are supposed to be pure, because he cant move around, okay so lets say, does a 9 year old steal? someone who is poor definately has the motive to steal, to feed his family, and lets say his other 5 brothers and sisters? now i ask u, is that evil? does the mean sustify the motives?

on the other hand though u have 9 year old rich kids who might also steal, why? for fun, human beings consider alot of things "fun", now again fun is different for anyone, so by him having fun, is he being evil?

please teach me with ur opnions
