Ok, I come down to two decision right now mainly which is VisionTek HD3870 512mb OC edition or some kind of brand of 8800GT 512mb... I'm thinking of upgrading from ATI Diamond mm 512mb to one of this.. Prices: 3870: $130 for next week at BestBuy no rebate required 8800gt: $140-$200 requiring rebates and vary from lots of stores. I'm mainly leaning towards 3870 since i can probably get it for $117 next week using a coupon.. but i want some opinions >.<
play your ps3 or wii...save some money...unless there are some pc must haves your gonna get...or u just get it cause you can like you always do lol, i would go for the 8800 since i doubt the ati is that much of an upgrade for your "old" card anyways...
if i was going for 9600gt.. i rather get 8800gt.. 8800gt out performs 9600gt.. lolz anyways.. the VisionTek HD3870 orig price was $250, on sale for $130 starting next week 6/1.. but i can get using a 10% coupon edit: and i do have the money... i've been looking for video cards lately.. might consider rebuilding another computer and using the HD2600xt as a spare or for another computer..
the thing is rth your too cocky for recommendations, so i recommend you make your own choice and don't care about what others think, like you always do hahaha....
eh... COD4 is a push... depends on resolution and settings... both cards perform bout the same for that game cuz it's coded so damn well
if you look at the charts here the 8800gt out performs the 3870 http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/...,1566,1626,1624,1620,1585,1567,1621,1565,1563 but not by a whole lot and its very dependent on the game and whether they were optimized for Nvidia chipset or the ATI chipset. i'd personally get the 8800gt its an overall beter card
but don't forget.. the HD3870 is a pre-oc edition, no need to oc, so the chart doesn't proof anything at this moment.. if you compared the pre oc edition againist a regular 8800gt.. who knows which one is better? unless you oc the 8800gt yourself..
