2013 Miss Hong Kong winner Grace Chan (陳凱琳) is on her way to be TVB’s next biggest fadan. Her rapid spring to fame has made her career much rockier to walk on compared to other rookies of her generation, but like her namesake, Grace is learning how to stay calm and collected in the face of pressure. “When I competed [for Miss Hong Kong], I was considered a hot favorite,” said Grace. “It was a lot of pressure—the more popular you get, the more pressure you face—and you have people chasing after you, asking you about your private life.” Grace lent some advice to current contestants, exclaiming that it is important to not be too stressed. “The more you stress over it, the more pressure you get. Don’t let these things affect your performance!” Grace’s early head start in the industry has put her private life constantly on the line. Under the watchful eyes of the paparazzi, the public watched Grace’s relationship with her Blue Veins <殭> costar Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) blossom to life. Despite having a 22-year age gap, Grace and Kevin’s connection remain strong. The 24-year-old actress expressed that while she and Kevin did not intend to reveal their relationship, she does not regret that it happened. By admitting to it, Grace said it is easier for them to separate public and private life. Grace stressed that it is important to remain true to yourself whilst in a relationship. “I have some friends who love their boyfriends too much. When they go out, they always put makeup on and dress in their best clothes. I don’t think that’s necessary. If he truly loves you, it wouldn’t matter how you look. You could wear sandals out in the streets, and he would still think you’re adorable.” Grace’s acting debut was in the 2014 anniversary drama Overachievers <名門暗戰>, but her most memorable acting experience to date was actually the time-traveling drama Captain of Destiny <張保仔>. “Out of all the dramas I’ve done so far, I had the most screen time in Captain of Destiny. It took about half a year to complete shooting, and because we filmed everyday, it was easier for me to get in character. Although it was difficult, I had a lot of fun. I had a lot of room for development, and it was also my first period drama.” Grateful of TVB for giving her numerous opportunities, Grace added, “Regardless of what career you’ll end up going, it’s important to hold on to any opportunities given to you. My younger brother is finding work now, and I told him that he may not necessarily like his first job. Sometimes, what you get is not what you expect. You need to get as much experience as you can.” Creds: Oncc
I don't care if you wear sandals cause I'm a sandals guy too Just don't put on an inch of makeup, the lighter, the better I do prefer her over Sisley though. 2013 Miss HK are being promoted so heavily as opposed to 2012. 2013 = Grace Chan, Sisley, Moon Lau, 2012 = Carat Cheung, Jacqueline Wong, Tracy Chu, special mention to
I'm not sure why they're heavily promoting just THAT year of Miss HKs.. what about previous years? There's nothing more special about their years from the year prior to theirs.
Her acting is better than most of her predecessors and TVB being strap for talent would seize any opportunity with new blood. To her credit, her acting being a newbie is somewhat better than most.
Sherry you look different. not the chubby girl you said you were. Dont look like Sherrypoo either (b-lee)
Crocs, sandals, flip-flops without socks are fine, but you look like a goof if you wear socks with those type of shoes.
Ewwwww what?! how can one wears...yellow crocs with socks.....thats a turn off no matter how good they look....
