This thread has a Chinese-author counterpart here, go reply with Chinese authors there! For non-Chinese authors, my favourites include: Haruki Murakami (author of Norwegian Wood, avant-garde Japanese writer), Kathy Reich (author of the BONES series, LOVE the forensic detail), Ray Bradbury (does anyone need his introduction? Here it is, Farenheit 451), Dan Brown (even though The Da Vinci Code is OVERRATED, Angels and Demons is SO much better), Patrick Süskind (everybody should go and read Perfume), Gabriel José García Márquez (One Hundred Years of Solitude, Love in the Time of Cholera), Milan Kundera (The Unbearable Lightness of Being), Aldous Huxley (Brave New World), list goes on...
