Even though there is another two, three months until TVB’s anniversary, but there are already rumours that the anniversary series this year will be Liza Wang’s “The Turbulence of East & West” and the 80 episode series “Jewel’s Splendour”. Looking back on this year until now, Lam Fung in “Moonlight Resonance” which started airing this week, played a likeable character, so he has a chance to win TVB’s best actor award this year. Actually he said in 2003 that he hopes to win the TV King title in five years. In recent years TVB had given him many chances to film series, plus in the past he had been in the Top 5 for the TV king award. “Moonlight” was popular among the audiences in its first week, based on many factors he has already given the title of “Future TV king”. Talking about the title “Future TV king”, Fung said, “Don’t make fun of me la! Maybe it’s because of Moonlight people noticed me, actually I need to thank the producer because in Heart of Greed I didn’t have a lot of scenes, you can say it was a cameo. However, in Moonlight I had added scenes plus I got the chance to work with many of the older generation actors, so I had already gained a lot. Everyone should also watch the performances of other actors in Moonlight.” Is he confident that he will win? “Of course I have confidence, actually if I acted without embarrassment it’s already ok. Now it’s too early to say. (You’re always in the top 5!) So I have a 20% confidence.” In 2003, after Fung won the “Most Favourite Character” award he expressed his desire to win Best Actor within five years, this year will be the last chance to meet this deadline. Plus there were rumours which said when he entered the entertainment industry in 1998, there was an agreement with his family that once he achieved some results (being TV King), he will go back and look after his father’s business. So there is a good chance that TVB will grant him his wish. About these rumours, Fung said, “This happened? Actually in recent years I have an agreement with my family that my career should just naturally progress.” There’re reports that recently Fung is busy recording and preparing for his new album. This shows he is going to work towards being a singer and an actor. Joe Ma is the dark horse Even though Fung is titled “Future TV king”, actually you can’t overlook Joe Ma. In the beginning of this year he became TVB’s own son (with management contract), plus his performance in “Catch me now” was praised. Plus “Turbulence” will be the anniversary series, he will have many scenes with Liza and Charmaine so it will not be a surprise if he breaks through. As for the male leads in “Jewel’s”, they’re Moses Chan and Bowie Lam. Both of them had won before, Moses had won two awards last year so it’s unlikely that he will win again. Special program filmed in North Pole Every year for the anniversary there is a special program, there are reports that this year it has been confirmed that they will film in North Pole. At first it was rumoured that Stephen Chan Chi Wan will go, but he didn’t have time so now it has not been confirmed who will go. Stephen said, “The crew thought I had been to the North Pole before so they told me to go, but I have only been to Antarctica. However I had already planned to go to the North Pole for a holiday next year, you need to go there during summer. In the beginning of the year after going to Antarctica I really wanted to go to the North Pole, since the ice is melting, need to be quick to see it.” Actually back in 1996, TVB arranged Gallen Lo and Wong Ji Yin to film in the North Pole. Not to be nasty but i really dnt think he deserves 'best actor' yet, nor does moses (didnt think he deserves it last yr either). Joe Ma maybe, but this yr hope they give it to bobby!
Definitely someone from MR gonna win it, my bet on Moses Chan, he the best character there. Sooo funny cracks me up all the time
