Source: Shanghai Young People’s Daily Refused to Film any TVB Series for 2008 This year TVB added two new awards “Mainland Audience’s Fave TVB Actor/Actress Awards” the results were determined by mainland viewer’s votes, the winners turned out to be Gigi and Raymond Lam. Later on during an interview with reporters, Gigi said “I will be taking leave for 2008, I’ve already rejected any offers to film TVB series next year, I just want to concentrate on caring for my brother.” Gigi’s brother was involved in a terrible car accident during the year, at one point it was feared that he may not live. Gigi said this incident changed her views on life “Two years ago when I was crowned TV Queen I felt so excited, but after my brother’s car accident, awards have no meaning for me anymore. Most important is to have good health and live a happy life.” But to leave at the peak of her career, is she worried that she will be forgotten by the audience? Gigi said, during her 20 years in the entertainment business, she has done everything from movies, TV series, singing, nowdays fame and money are no longer important. Love Life is Completely Blank Gigi was moved to tears when she saw Lydia Shum appear onstage in a wheelchair, she told reporters, “To see Lydia like this makes me so emotional, life is too short, there are things in life that are much more important than money and status.” When reporters asked Gigi about her current love life, Gigi revealed: “My love life is totally blank, but there are still many people who loves me such as my family, friends and fans, I feel contented already.” At the same time she receives love from people, she wants to give her love to others, in the future she will do more charity work to help those in need.
wow good for gigi, she has some serious determination to do this type of stuff. to live a free life for a while and forget about fame.
