I feel that my current weight is not ideal. -sweat well, i KNOW it's not ideal..lol I've joined a sport at school and we have weight training a couple days a week. However, i feel like I've gain so much more muscle and the flab is still there. If i keep this up, will i end up with elephant arms and legs? O_O
Any advice? I don't want to do something that's irreversible.

So what you're saying is that the muscle I'm gaining will soon replace the flab? or will it just accompany it? Goal: skinnier arms/calves
    I weigh 130-132 and I'm pretty short (5' 4"-5'5") somewhere there.
I wanna get rid of the flab, ya know? lol

weight lifting will only build muscle. in order to lose fat, you have to do cardio (anything that will get your heartrate up for at least 30 minutes such as running). also you cant just lose fat in specific areas. if you want fat to go away it is your overall body fat percentage that must go down.

well, it's not like i ONLY want to lose weight in my arms. Overall, I'd like to shed about 10 pounds if possible. However, i feel a lot of fat is accumulating in my arms and legs. I do excercise (sports) which gets me pretty active, so I suppose i do cardio. It doesn't seem to be helping? Any other tips?

ok..to start off with the arms, a quick google search on toning arms gave me these specific excercises:

    Weighted dips
    Close grip bench press
    Close grip push ups
    Lying barbell French press
    Overhead cable extensions
    Cable press downs
    Reverse cable press downs

actually to lose fat and to tone up is to do muscle-endurance type workouts...since you have access to a weight room just do any exercise at a low intensity, high rep

Cardio is the way to go...

    LISTEN when people say this!
If your at the gym, hit the treadmill, and don't go on it at a pace where your reading a magazine, or you go comfortably...
There is NO POINT in going on the treadmill and your not even the slightest out of breath and all you did was read through the entire magazine you brought with you...
You need to really RUN! increase the speed, change the angle so that you run slightly up hill...

If you don't go gym, then go jogging, just don't walk during your jog...

Swimming is good, but you got to be doing laps, no recreational swim where your just chilling in the pool, you really want to do those laps up and down the pool!

Rowing machine is very good, as well as the cross trainer...

last but not least...DIET...its been said time and time again...a good diet leads to better lifestyle and weight loss.
It's doesnt mean cut down on your food intake, that's not a diet...

    You got to eat PROPERLY!
If you actually read what diet things NORMALLY say, you don't cut foods out...you eat in proportion, and also something i learnt, if you cut out things like sweets or junk food forever...once you have a nibble of it you become addicted...and then it comes back even worst...
Think of it as a treat, so like maybe once a week...
If you never been strong at diets, try to 80/20 regeim, where 80% of the time your on a diet, and then 20% your allowed to be bad (but don't overdo the bad)...

    Hopefully this helps...
