Gallen Lo, former TVB Number 1 Brother, talked about his departure from TVB in a recent interview. While at his career peak, Gallen left TVB for the mainland market. Regarding his move, he expressed no regrets, “There are a plethora of opportunities in Mainland.” Recently a lot of emphasis has been placed on former TVB artists exploring mainland’s gold-digging opportunities. Gallen said, “Artists leaving TVB is an inevitable trend. Regardless of the salary or the film schedule, both are better than filming in Hong Kong, allowing for more disposable time. At the very least, I’m guaranteed 6 to 7 hours of rest. I couldn’t imagine such if I stayed with TVB.” Source: news67
Mainland has better money & better living conditions too.. like at least you get rest. TVB, money will likely be less & most chances are you wont get sleep. Chances are you wont really get known if you work in Mainland.. but at least you get $$ & rest. TVB will get you fame faster.. so up to you to decide which road you'd take.
That really sucks! The last series I remember he was in was Born Rich. He didn't really do a good role in that (imo) but his still a good actor.
lol they probably use the same work ethics as back in Shaw Brothers days.. that wouldn't fly in modern times.
