    Well depending on how much the item cost.
    If it's below $100, i'd go with cash and it's better if u pay with cash, no overdrafts, no credits, no worries of overspending.
    And a credit card if it's above $100 to collect reward points and bcoz it's convenient :)

    For small purchases, I pay cash.
    For bigger ones and hotel, tickets, etc I always prefer Credit Card.
    This makes things easier and get some airlmiles.
    (the back draw is that the credit card companies will come up with an upgrade action :()
