What's your favorite mooncake and/or company? One of my favorite is... Kee Wah Mixed Nuts with Ham or.. Choi Heong Yuen Lotus Paste w/ 2 Yolks -drool
Whatever brand that does plain lotus seed paste filling.. Hate the yolk AND it musn't have any nuts in it like some do in the UK its BLEH!
i always hated those nuts/lotus filled moon cakes. what the hell! i was hoping for a sweet lotus filling, but no i get some crazy bunch of nuts! Personally I think plain lotus or 1 yolk is good. Anyone ever tried a frozen DURIAN mooncake? crazy stuff people make these days.
I think I have only ever tried those frozen mooncakes once and they just remind me of frozen "lor may chi", admittingly thought I am intrigued by the mango flavour one
I want to try those frozen mooncake Mixed nuts are good... from some companies.. others.. I hate lol.
^ I genuinely feel that nuts shouldn't be in a mooncake because it's not traditional that way. But I guess diversity and new stuff is goood Btw don't expect too much with the frozen ones, just frozen lor mai chi (skin) with ice cream in the middle
Heh.. so most people like lotus paste in mooncake only? That's what I heard about frozen mooncake/snowy mooncake which was similar to mochi. There are so many flavors to try.
well i would imagine not everyone likes the egg yolks inside it Hopefully I'll be getting a plain one in October from my parents when they come back from HK YAY
Only had the original ones.. with yolk. I dont like the ice mooncakes, so i eat the original. I actually like it no yolk.. but 1 yolk is alright. LOL
on tv here they were advertising coffee flavor mooncake.. like really? now and days they want to cater to younger generations or something. +1 for traditional cakes!
Didn't we have a thread like this already? Anyways, traditional ones, I can't eat too much, only a little piece and I'm full. It's heavy, I do like red bean paste and lotus. A little bit of the yolk is ok as long as it's room temperature. Recent years, the ice moon cake is my favorite, just that it's kinda expensive.
^ pomelo...!!..'sa teen yau'...i lub that stufff...!!!!!!.... the new flavours and diff variations then to cost more here too....esp. them low sugar ones etc -__-"
