i don't know about US lol...there are some in my place's night market...the smell is unbearable...smelly on the outside, but when you eat it, it has a crunchy skin and soft tofu inside,...it's nice with special chili sauce ...
HK dan tart(egg tart), lou por beng (pastry with some kind of filling), zhu cheong fan (rice noodles), zha leong (rice noodles wrapped with fillings), chi fan (glutinous rice with filling of chicken floss and sth else), kai dan zhai (erm...dunno how to describe this - it's some cake like food), tang zhai zhuk (seafood congee) In china the only thing I know of that's famous is the siu long pao (dumplings with soup inside)
got that right. stinky tofu, but it really smells bad, wonder if it tastes any good. i actually thought it was their sewage system!
where r u at in the US?? i'm here in san francisco and there are quite a couple of places that has it. a spicy taiwan resturant i go to, a place in chinatown that you can smell a block away, and umm.... there were a couple of other places i got them from but can't remember.
i see in the movies they love hawker food like put jai gou, go jing jung (big dumpling), curry fish ball and etc... malaysia....
