"Family Link" Gains Highest Average Ratings of the Year TVB's prime time ratings fell on the whole last week, but the finale week of "The Family Link" and the happy ending brought in ratings of 44 points with over 2.86 million viewers tuning in. The series average of 33 points has also broken this record for the year. After the success of "Heart of Greed", the three couples in "Family" have taken the top spot in the series average ratings for this year, above "Heart" at 32 points, equalling "Ten Brothers" and storming "Dicey Business" and "War and Destiny" at 31 and 30 points respectively. For the week, the average ratngs fell by 1 point down to 33 points, peaking at 36 points with the finale pulling in 44 at its peak and averaging 38 points. The cast are ecstatic at the results and General Manager Stephen Chan says that there will be a big celebration shortly. wow im surprise that its gained the average top part rating!! i thought heart of greed was good, but i think this attract more ppl cuz probably more women watch TVB shows so more would watch!! it was actualyl a ok series!
saw the first 2 eps...didn't seem like i would enjoy it......so i stopped watching it......but im glad it's very successful
it was boring in the beginning, but i still continued to watch it. i can't believe it got higher ratings than heart of greed.
Yea, I watched the first 2 episode and bits here and there. I didn't enjoy the series too much. The acting of some actors and actress was bland. Lelia Tong accidentally confessing her love for Kenneth was one of the worst scene ever in my opinion.
personally I think it's better than heart of greed, which is why I'm not surprised it got higher ratings. the see lais are so typical of HK mothers, hahaha. it has a more family-type theme, which is probably what got them the higher ratings - by spreading over more age groups. heart of greed and the whole rich family internal conflict thing isn't my cup of tea. I was too busy laughing in the first few episodes of HoG when the girl kept clinging to alfred.
is the family link really that good? my friend said it was okay. i sure am surprised to hear that this series got the highest rating so far. i thought heart of greed was going to get it.
