CRHK's Chik Chak Pop Music Chart Awards Ceremony 2007 <07年度叱咤樂壇流行榜頒獎典禮> took place this evening at the AsiaWorld Expo.

Eason Chan (陳奕迅) emerged as the big winner of the night, taking five awards, which were the Chik Chak Gold Male Singer award, the Most Most Most Most Most Most Most Most Most Most Favourite song award, Favourite Male singer award, Ultimate Album award for Listen To Eason Chan and one of the top ten songs of the year.

After repairing his relationship with CRHK, Hacken Lee (李克勤) took the number three position in the top ten with his song "Who Wins The Flower" <花落誰家>, but he did not attend the ceremony to receive his accolade.

The gold, silver and bronze female singer awards were presented to Joey Yung (容祖兒), Denise Ho (何韻詩) and Kay Tse (謝安琪) respectively. Upon receiving her award, Joey spoke of how she had opened herself up in 2007 and has learned how to enjoy her work. Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅) came away with just the Favourite Female Singer award.

This is the third year in a row that Eason has taken the gold male singer award. Leo Ku (古巨基) continued to make do with the silver award and the bronze award this year went to Hins Cheung (張敬軒), who also took the Ultimate Song award for "Ardently Love" <酷愛>.

As for the groups, there was a surprise as Twins could only manage a silver award, their place at the top taken by rappers Fama, who took the gold award in the groups category.

The creatives in the industry were also honoured at the ceremony as the gold, silver and bronze Singer-Songwriter awards went to Ivana Wong (王菀之), Louis Cheung (張繼聰) and Eric Kwok (郭偉亮). Louis also won the Chik Chak Composer Award and when the result was announced, his good friends Denise and Hins were so excited that they both gave him a kiss. On stage, he thanked his wife Kay, saying that he would marry her again and again if he could travel back in time and announcing that he loved her. Kay was moved to tears when she heard this from the audience.

Male newcomer awards for the year went to Ken Hung (洪卓立), Pakho Chau (周柏豪) and Terence Tsui (小肥), who won gold, silver and bronze respectively. Female newcomers Eunix Lee (李卓庭), Sherman Chung (鍾舒漫) and Cathly Leung (梁雨恩) were also honoured. HotCha, JuicyNing (朱淩淩) and Kolor were presented with the newcomer groups awards. When Sherman was presented with her award, she cried: "A lot of people say I am quite dark and people do not like me, but I am very thankful to my manager Mani [Fok (霍汶希)] for her support."

Kary Ng (吳雨霏) beat off stiff competition from Eason to take the Four Stations Combined Album award for her album In Control.

The top ten songs for the year were announced as:

"Ardently Love" <酷愛> - Hins Cheung (張敬軒)
"Crying in the Party" - Eason Chan (陳奕迅)
"Who Wins The Flower" <花落誰家> - Hacken Lee (李克勤)
"Love Comes Home" <愛回家> - Leo Ku (古巨基)

I'm sick of Eason winning every year. He's just over-rated. His new music sucks, compared to his old music.

I think it's obvious that Hins should have won, especially since Hins pretty much swept away all the awards at other award shows.

I'm happy that Eason won.. rather than Leo Ku or Hins Cheung but for his personality more than his songs (I have only listened to a handful of them..)
