I just moved and now as I unpacked my stuffs, there are a lot of things that I want to sell off to create more space. (in case you're wondering why the hell I wanna move the stuffs to the new home in the first place, I didn't. I paid for movers and they just packed everything) Well, E-Bay has always been the place I heard most about everywhere but I have never try selling anything online before. Getting set up just kills me - the fee, the paypal system, s&h fees, etc.. I was looking over at Amazon and one easier step, they do everything and I just collect the money every 2 weeks. Of course, I have to ship the items myself but at least everything's provided. NOW, I have no clue which is better and cheaper cuz I haven't really compare the "fee" schedule side by side but no doubt in my head that Amazon might be a slightly higher. Considering the services that Amazon provide (not need to set up a paypal acct and all), I think it's worth the cost. If you have experience selling on Ebay or Amazon, please walk me through the maze. Thanks!
no paying system .. what if it's a fraud and i can't collect payment. i tried craigslist in the past in seattle but doesn't really work. i never got any replies and when i did, all flakes.
it works where i am lol...cause u gota meet up so u get cash on the spot since u're selling and not buying.....and if u wanan make sure everythgin is legit bring like 2 friends with you to deal so no scam is invovled
give it to the local charity if you dont really need the money, if not then ebay is the best as your protected with paypal
where you at? if you're in the Greater Toronto Area, you can use www.redflagdeals.com, which is a forum you post shit you want to sell. then people pm you, and you meet up. or just use kijiji, craigslist etc
amazon take a pretty hefty chunk of your sellings..... never sold anything on ebay so no idea there...
ebay isn't too bad as long as u make sure ur not getting fake buyers but if its usual stuff and not particularly high demand stuff u should get actual buyers. just make sure they have a gd feedback and that they aren't asking u to post to ridiculous places.
i kinda prefer amazon now more than ebay; sure, amazon takes a big chunk but so does ebay now. all kinds of fees is attached on ebay these days. plus, amazon allows up to 3 months (i believe) to sell your things. and if you don't sell, zero fees. whereas ebay ... 7 days ... don't sell, you lose your listing fees.
yup .. i was comparing between amazon and ebay .. ebay isn't like the old days .. the fees are like mountain high and that's not the only problem .. it's very confusing too. i think most ppl stayed w/ ebay are those who have been there for a long time so they're not leaving .. but i doubt the new ones will be attracted there though.. except to buy but not sell.
^actually selling ebay hasn't been that hard. Just started posting stuff on ebay and can finish listings in like 20 minutes without any hassles. Though the fees are stacking up like the listing fee and then the 3% that paypal takes
just setting things up give me a headache .. i am so confused by it all. i'd like to know all the fees and they're available there but the problem is i don't know what apply to me or what not. i try to minimize costs and dislike being caught by any surprises later on .. if you're selling stuff on ebay .. what or how do you set things up and still keep the costs down to the lowest??
