durian and alcohol

I learned this weekend that one should NOT eat durian and alcohol together


can someone explain this one more?

 

I heard it will cause indigestion and give you bad breathe

 

I have heard this before, but I have no explaination.
Perhaps it will turn acidic when taken both.
Like Baileys and oranges.

 

well when my friend could tell from my reactions i didn't understand
she totally freaked out on me and said "DONT TRY IT, YOU"LL DIE"

something about the chemcial reactions between alcohol and some stuff in the durian will solidify and you have to get your stomach pumped within a few hours or else . . .

 

try it in a bowl? lol

well that's somethin i should add to my "not to do" list

But I guess it's like milk and citrus... odd neutralization reaction going on in your stomach...

 

how true is it? hhmm ... i want to say i have tried it before. I believe we make durian slurpee ... well, we mix durian and some alcohol (or i believe there is alcohol) in it. I can't be sure though. about 90% sure.

 

actually that's a smart idea to test it

 

According to chinese, durian is "yit hei (hot)" + alcohol which would double its effects thus causing too much internal heat.
