As far as bittorrent goes i heard a good way to block your IP address when you are using torrent files is a software called Peerguardian. It basically blocks specific ip addresses that compromises your comp's id. I dont know if its effective but im using it atm.

Look for it and download it for it if you want. Although im using it at the moment although it did screw up my comp.

Megaupload should be fine its a file hosted website....but thats just my opinion.

um suppose its safe only if u remember to delete browsing history and
make sure wen u download no teachers are about...

im not sure depends whether ur uni allows it. in terms of internet safety, its not gonna have viruses or spyware on the website.

I mean if you are not uploading... u should be safe..
They can't catch u because u don't know what's in the file technically.

downloading is never allowed no matter how you download it. network administrator can monitor your activities so be careful and they can also limit of access by comparing your usage with others. its unlikely to get caught by movie industries using megaupload but you can be caught by your uni.

You got caught using bit torrent because you have to upload as well, MU just lets you download so it's no problem at all.

i used to live at campus when i was studinyg abroad last year. get incredible speed too when downloading. at least 600kb/sec, But i got caught lots of time when i use bittorent. The reason they gave me is coz i am using all the bandwidth when i connect to peers on the torrent network. When i tried to limit my download rate to around 50kb/sec and upload to 10kb, they still caught me. Accused me of torrent "trickling". That is when i found PA and all its DDL links. Rest assured, downloading from DDL like megaupload and rapidshare should be ok. At least, thats what happens in my campus.

check your campus internet terms of service etc

my uni campus network forbid bittorent, but did not say anything about using sites such as megaupload, although they mention that you should not download any illegal stuff, etc

is there any viruses, spywares or keyloggers in the dl files ?

    The_Jelly NSFW? :P

I can't believe you're asking that. Most of the DDL from PA is safe.

I've downloaded in PA for a while and have no issues at all as they are most just mp3's and rmvb's, if you are downloading (especially .exe files) make sure to scan them before installing the program. You can read the replies to see if other members complain or response.
