    Does sauna burned fat/calories?

I was wondering does sauna works in burning fat/calories. I think sauna can burned fat/calories because we're sweating. :D

You are dehydrated for the most part, unless you constantly live in a sauna, the "calories/fat burning" ability of sauna is near zip.

yea, continueing with that hiake says

    lots of quick fixes
like if your going to dance, a wedding, a fashion show, need to wear a bathing suit etc
    they just dehydrate themselves,

it is a quick way to lose a few pounds
ever heard of the term "water weight"

    but it is only tempory
sweating out the water is just one way of losing that water weight
your not burning fat, your just releasing some of the resources in your body, and not replenishing yourself afterwards

so even if your in a sauna for a long time, and you go and redrink alot of water afterwards, than your efforts are useless

besides sitting in a sauna for a long time is actually bad for your health

Oh, that's mean, sauna only cause dehydration instead of burning calories. Yes, I heard of "water weight" term. We usually lost water instead of fat when just started exercising. But sauna good for relaxation.

I read it from somewhere that in one session of sauna you burn like 300 calories.

all the sauna does is makes you sweat so in that case it does make you lose weight (the body is 90 something percnet water) if thats what your implying......
Bodybuilders dehydrate themselves a lot precontest to look ripped.... kinda the samething
But the actual buring of cals should be the same as watching tv cause your not really doing much but just sitting there

I think sauna doesnt really help you lose fat, it just helps you lose water weight. Although people say that sauna is good for open your pores if you shower before and right after, suppose to give you a good complextion. It's also supposing relaxing for some people.

It could be true (not sure about the exact amount of calories), but then again, we burn calories even as we sit around, lounging or even sleeping, so I guess that doesn't really matter.

Conclusion: Sauna doesn't help you lose weight.

If sauna really works in losing weight then I supposed nobody gonna exercise anymore and all the slimming center will be closing down.

well.. if you live in north america..

honestly, EVEN if you do go to sauna... and you sweat a lot (just those couple of hours you lose a little bit of weight) but when you drink water/liquid.. you'll gain it back.. so it doesnt really make a difference.

instead of going to the sauna.. just go do a sport you enjoy (ex: hiphop dance or whatever)

300 calories lost in 15-20 minutes? I wonder why more people don't have one installed in their house?

it just increases your metabolism, so whatever exercise you do after the sauna will burn more energy and fat then usual
