Anita Mui (梅艷芳) was mentally sound when she executed her will, a doctor who treated her told a Hong Kong court yesterday. The late Cantopop diva's mother has gone to court in a bid to have the will declared void, which would entitle her to her daughter's entire fortune estimated at more than HK$100 million. Tam Mei Kam, 84, who currently receives monthly payments of HK$70,000 from her daughter's estate, claims Anita was in unsound mind when executing the will 27 days before dying and while in hospital receiving treatment for cervical cancer. The court heard that Dr Peter Teo, of the Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital, witnessed the signing of the will on 3 December 2003 but the next day diagnosed Anita with hepatic encephalopathy, an illness of the central nervous system that causes dizziness, interrupted speech and a dull mental state. However, Dr Teo told the court that he believed Anita was mentally capable of making a will until she fell into a coma on 24 December, six days before she died aged 40. The contested will left properties in Hong Kong and London to Anita's close friend, designer Eddie Lau, and gave money to nephews, nieces and the New Horizon Buddhist Association. Albert Yau, representing New Horizon, told the court on Tuesday that Anita decided not to leave her mother absolute control of the estate in fear that her mother would squander it. i think she was fully capable of making that will and decided not to give so much to her mother cos she is 84 years old and she wouldn't need all of that money and chances are she wouldn't be alive to spend all that money anyway. besides 70000 a month is sufficent anyway, why would she need more.
Apparently she wants the amount to amount for her son and his wife and son because they don't work or some shit like that and she said they she has to pay 2 maids, 1 driver and has to feed 6 dogs

With a mother like that, im not surprised Anita changed her will. Hope the court rules in Anita's favour, her mother doesnt deserve the cash if she doesnt even respect her daughters' last wishes.
From what I have heard, she wants the full amount of Anita's fortune under her name. When she dies she can leave the fortune to her son. If the will is not void, the payment will stop once the mom dies. She's just a bad mom.
