So I started another thread a few weeks ago called "do you shop at used clothing stores " and i'm not suprised that most people answered no. I think it's cause asians are taught the whole success thing, and back in mind somewhere it also goes that if you have to buy used clothes that you can't afford new clothes

anyways so different but similar question
do you wear hand me downs? maybe from an older brother or sister, or other family members?
Or maybe as a kid you got some of your parent's friend's children clothes (happens a lot for babies since they grow out of their clothes so quickly)

I was taught never to buy used clothing, but as a child i always wore hand me downs

NO .. i don't wear anything that's not brand name .. lol .. j/k .. but yeah, i don't wear used clothing. in fact, i don't even buy used books when i was back in college. why? i can't stand people writing or highlighting them and most used books have one or the other. anyway, for kids, i don't mind if it's from a VERY closed family such as my sister's kid's clothes. NO other relatives' clothes .. urghhh .. I trust my sisters cuz I know their cleanly habit and tastes. Otherwise, NO too for kid's clothes.

i dunno, when i become a mom , i think i would still pass down some of my kids clothing, espeically at the age they dont care about fashion

buying so much clothing for kids who grow out of it so fast gets expensive

when you ahve a kid and you have to buy the extra toys, and lesson fees, and other crap, you'll try to cut back on some expenses

  5. Won't even think of it... not even my brothers $20,000 diamond watch..

I use to wear hand me downs but now i just wear my own clothing because the other clothes are out of fashion. They fit in the 80's - 90's era.

I don't but I think that's because I haven't come across anything I really like from people. If there was and it's clean I don't think anything is wrong with it. There are people out there who wish they had hand me downs (because they have nothing).

LOL.... hahahaha i remember borrowing my brother's shirt... he got so pissed off cuz it was stretchy around the "chest area" hahaha.... i needed a t when i went to play squash n couldnt find it in my wardrobe so i ripped his... he didnt appreciate that....

now me n my sis only borrow eachothers accessoiries like bags etc but we have quite a different style so not too often la....
anyway, i got my sisters old clothes when i was a little kid....yes, enforced but hey who cares... kids grow outta their clothes so quickly that it doesnt even matter....
if it use to belong to my nephew or niece n it looks cute why not?

I would wear it if it was still fashionable and my size. I am particularly on the heavy side, so some one in my family has to be my size to hand theirs down to me
