My mum always holds her umbrella where ever she goes to protect herself from the sun. Sad thing is the other day when i was with my mum a rude person said "wtf you carrying a umbrella when its not raining?!!" but i don't really see anything wrong with protecting yourself from the sun.. anyways i've seen quite a few people out there who do hold a umbrella to shield against the sun. My question is do you hold an umbrella to protect yourself against the sun? and do you find it annoying or weird if you see someone holding an umbrella?
um ok but i used to like the sun and then i started getting alot of freckles.. so now try to avoid the sun. and the sun isn't completely good for you as it makes you age quicker.
Its one of them stupid things ''some'' asian women do to try and look white, that's all it is basically, no offence to yo moma -woot2 luckily ive never seen it in person, i would prolly end up staring. Get yourself in a vacuum quick!!!
Getting some sun for a few mins a day is good, helps you get some vitamin D but don't stand in direct sunlight for too long, don't want that bad sun burn. It can cause skin cancer, sun spots, rough skins etc. If you are young, than umbrellas seem stupid, but if you are the elderly, that umbrella is really useful, acts as a cane and shields against direct sunlight.
Culture difference... I mean, I personally wouldn't hold one in Canada... In China, it might be typical...
i'm glad you actually quoted "some" the umbrella thing is a trend yo, i've been thr. this since i was born i believe. Then i started to dislike it once im in America......c'mon i'm in AMERICA, wouldn't do the same in other western foreign countries, just weird
Did your mom just immigrate from Asia? Only Asian women living in Asia carry umbrellas around to shield from the sun. Do that in any western country and you're bound to attract rude stares/comments.
I see some asian women in my community using an umbrella; but, they're mostly the older generation. I personally don't use one to shield the sun; although I think I should.
i think da onli time i did dat was wen i went 2 see da big buddha in hk and it was boilin hot dat day so i used an umbrella to keep cool lol but other dan dat i dun cuz im naturally dark anyways lol
ermm....asian women hold brollys coz its ubbbbber hot/sunny there isnt it...?..wouldnt really call it a trend... sometimes my mammi holds a umbrella in hk if its ubbbber hot....
But i put a fire extinguisher in the fire extinguisher to out the flames in the flames when it flames.
Only if it is super hot. I've seen Asian and non-Asian women holding umbrellas when the sun is out because it is super hot and they'll be walking a lot.
It's not a trend at all. Some women carry umbrellas to shade themselves from the sun to provide shade and preventing contact from direct sunlight. The shade helps to cool their body so that there's less chance for them to sweat, while also protecting their more delicate (whiter) skin from direct sunlight that may damage or discolor the skin. So basically, the umbrella aids their aesthetic requirements. I don't think it's weird, but it is a more traditional routine, so less people are going to carry it out when the majority prefer naturally colored and radiant skin over flawlessly white skin for the most part in this day and age.
Actually, it's quite alright to hold an umbrella when it's HOT. Whenever I take my baby niece or parents out, I always hold an umbrella for them. HEAT stroke .. hello.. So yeah .. it's normal. But on a regular day without strong sun, NO .. it's weird but hey .. I have seen and met plenty of weirdos in my life so no surprise here.
