    Birth Name: Sawajiri Erika (沢尻エリカ)

    Born: April 8th, 1986

    Origin: Nerima, Japan

Born to a Japanese father and an Algerian-French mother, she passed the Stardust audition in 1999 after graduating from elementary school. She got her big break in 2003 when she was cast in the popular drama HOTMAN. Her fame spread thanks to her protrayal of Ikeuchi Aya in the drama 1 Litre no Namida, a young girl with a degenerating brain disease that affected one’s motor skills. Erika made her singing debut under Amane Kaoru, her character in Taiyou no Uta. The single became the highest selling female single of 2006, selling close to 500,000 copies. On July 16, 2007, Erika released her ‘debut’ single under only Erika entitled “Free”. The single was immediately ranked on its first day as number one on the Oricon Charts. Oricon stated that she is the only artist in 39 years to get their first two single hit number one since Hiroko Yakushimaru in 1983. According to members of her staff, Erika will be taking a break in London, England for a majority of the year. Her 2008 schedule is blank for a while, at least until summer. Her management is rumored to be planning her “comeback” for the autumn of this year.

Here it is the theme song Taiyou No Uta played on A Steinway Model D Grand Piano. We have just produced it using Logic Studio 8 with Garritan Personal Orchestra V3 using authorised samples of the Steinway Model D Grand Piano. This was output as 16 bit CD quality wav file and then compressed using the highest variable bit rate possible thus resulting in a high quality MP3 that you could enjoy with some decent kit.

The one and only Steinway piano solo version of the Taiyou No Uta. The OST CD version is the Orchestral version.
