Different Miss Hong Kong results published on site before winner was announced

Although the Miss Hong Kong 2008 Pageant winners had already been announced and finalised as #3 Edelweiss Cheung crowned winner, #6 Skype Chan 1st Runner up and #11 Sire Ma 2nd runner up. A netizen reported that before the winner's were announced, TVB's website already had winner results published on the site, but of a different result. The picture the netizen claimed they had saved from the site was of top 5 contestant #7 Hilda Leung placed the winner, the 1st runner up was left blank while #4 Samantha Ko and #11 Sire Ma were both placed as 2nd runner's up. This report led the impression that the final result was fixed. The netizen who reported the matter stated that there was no way it was photoshopped and the picture was from the direct link of TVB's website.

Netizen's question the results and claim its fixed

Many online forum's have been discussing the results of this year's Miss Hong Kong. Many netizen's stated that Edelweiss Cheung being crowned the winner was fixed. But there were also a few that were satisfied with the result. TVB Executive Stephen Chan denied the claims of this year's winner not suitable due to having negative press. "The judges haven't really read much entertainment news, they only watched the performance." (Eric Tsang said it was an unexpected result?) "I don't think so." (Will you attend classes with the new Miss Hong Kong to improve her manners?) "Certainly, it will help her cope better."

Don't exclude the possibility that mistakes can happen

Due to the fact that it was Sunday yesterday, TVB didn't give a full explanation about the reports of why there was 2 different results on their website. But TVB assistant director of public relations Tsang Shing Ming responded over the phone by saying "Everyone who watched the show broadcast would have witnessed the results announced live. #3 Edelweiss Cheung was crowned the winner. Every year the results are announced on live broadcast, in order to be fair. " Asked whether it was a mistake or testing version of the results on the site? Tsang Shing Ming replied " Don't exclude the possibility that mistakes can happen. It could just be a testing picture for the site, or someone making a practical joke. A meeting will be held on Monday and we will investigate the matter further." Miss Hong Kong production manager Rosa Chan considers that the general public have seen the live broadcast of the show or seen reports of the results, they know that the results were fair.
