Singer Leon Lai and model Gaile Lok's marriage is rumoured to be on the verge of breaking down when it was reported that actress Zhang Ziyi allegedly came between the couple. Gaile was also spotted spending the night at a friend's house, fuelling speculations that she had already moved out of the couple's marital home. Another report also stated that the model has stopped receiving jobs through Leon's manager and is currently taking in jobs based on her personal contacts to regain financial independence. Rumours of the couple's differing views were also said to have caused a strain in the Gaile and Leon's relationship. It was reported that Gaile is ready for kids, but Leon wants focus on his career instead. A few days ago, Leon and Gaile released a joint statement to refute rumours of a marriage meltdown and firmly expressed that they will not divorce. He personally emphasised that "people will see the truth very soon" and plans to make a public appearance with his wife in-tow. In a magazine interview, Leon clarified that Gaile did not move out of their home and was merely attending a party at her friend's house. The singer also added that his manager is still handling all of Gaile's jobs. At the same time, Leon also denied that Ziyi came between him and his wife and claimed that "she's just a friend". However, according to a recent report, Leon does not want a divorce after he considered the possible complications that may arise due to property divisions. If the pair divorced each other, half of Leon's assets will be given to the model, as part of their divorce settlement.
