Sunday December 02, 2007 Hong Kong Former rumoured lovers Denise Ho (何韻詩) and Wilfred Lau (劉浩龍) appeared at a charity ball yesterday, where they assisted with a magic act. The magician asked them to select a card each to check their affinity towards each other, but even before picking her card, Denise had insisted that there was none. However, the cards proved them wrong when they both selected the same card and she was forced to agree that maybe there were still some cosmic ties between them. Wilfred revealed that he had taken some magic lessons from Stephen Fung (馮德倫) and when she heard this, Denise joked that he was learning this to try and chat up the girls. However, Wilfred corrected her, saying that magic was used to make children happy, for girls he uses sincerity. Denise's absence at the RTHK press event last week has raised speculation that she will not win any awards from them this year. She explained that she was not present at the event because she had to complete other work and she will be appearing at future events. She laughed that the press are too sensitive about these matters and she will have to arrange a live broadcast next time to prove that she is busy. She said that she does not know whether or not she is up for an award. Asked if she felt that making money is more important than winning awards, Denise admitted that money is more useful and has always been more important to her. However, she has not yet gained enough status to withdraw from awards ceremonies, so she will still be sporting and take part in the awards events. Asked about suggestions that she and Joey Yung (容祖兒) should take it in turns to win the best female singer award, she agreed that this would be a great idea. credits: batgwa.
