Birth Name: 강윤성 (Kang Yoon Sung) Born: November 16, 1983 Origin: Goyang, South Korea Developing an interest in gospel and R&B generes since his childhood, he would often perform onstage at his local church in Seoul. Whether that be singing or playing the piano, he would perform any chance he got. It was due to this that he was discovered by his producer that would introduce him to the music industry. His producer has very small funds causing K to debut as an Indies artist for his first album in 2004. The album did not reach very much success however it opens doors for him. In autumn of that same year, he would travel to Japan to begin recording for his Japanese debut. His first two singles debuted in the top 10 on the Oricon charts making him the first Korean male arist to ever achieve two serial top 10 singles. His major label debut album Beyond the Sea reached #2 on the Oricon charts making it the first album by an Asian artist not from Japan to debut within the top 3.
