Jacky Cheung is back, and he invites you to his Private Corner! It has been more than five years since the last time he released a Cantonese studio album - Life is Like a Dream in 2004, and no longer content with singing pop songs, the Canto-pop King has evolved to offer a new sound never heard from him. With a voice like vintage wine, Jacky can always be counted on to deliver the goods, and his vocals make a perfect match with the jazz sound of the new album. Private Corner is made with a discerning audience in mind, and producer Andrew Tuason ensured the best sound quality by using only authentic instruments. 01. 迷你 02. ok...this aint your typical jacky canto album...i guess those who are hoping this album would mark the return of jacky to his "roots" music must be disappointed...none of the songs will be any hits it's all jazz music...the type of music you listen to as you pay $20 for two beers and just sit at the lounge and enjoy the vibe..... it is rare for a chinese singer to release this type of CD.........gotta give him cred
I have to said that it's a bit dissapointed after listening to the album. Not the usual genre that JC are good at... Note that this album will be very slow as the songs are all Jazz type. I almost fall asleep after listening it. Really look forward to hear the type of Pop songs that JC is good at again soon...
You're all expecting 2010 versions of "Love you more each day" and "Follow you forever" Gotta understand he's trying out new stuff. In fact he has been toying with new styles for almost the last 8-10 years on his last few studio Mandarin and Cantonese albums. I"ll admit, I wasn't particularly impressed with the new style of music he has put out in the last few years but I've gone back to them afterwards and can appreciate and like it better. Maybe it's just me, but Jacky is a damn good rapper too and he can sing so fast.
just went through the entire album, all the songs are pretty good. My fav tracks: 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9
