Monday October 15, 2007 Hong Kong Cast members from TVB's anniversary series Men Don't Cry <奸人堅> including Dayo Wong (黃子華), Cecilia Yip (葉童), Benz Hui (許紹雄), Sidney Yim (雪梨), Vivien Yeo (楊秀惠) and Charmaine Li (李思欣) took part in a promotional event as part of the TVB 40th Anniversary Roadshow today. The artistes played games with members of the audience and joked around with adults and children alike, even poking fun at TVB general manager Stephen Chan (陳志雲), who was also there to lend a hand selling charity t-shirts. Asked if he was confident in taking an award at the anniversary, Dayo said that he was not. He felt that Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) would win best actor for his role in Devil's Disciple <強劍> and Lee Si Kei (李司棋) deserved the best actress. He also fancied Lai Lok Yi (黎諾懿) and Nancy Wu (胡定欣) for the most improved awards. As for whether or not his lack of confidence was down to him being an "adopted son" of TVB rather than a "true son", Dayo admitted that this was the case and he was a difficult son, so he was only good enough to play "Evil Kin" [his role in the series]. Cecilia revealed that she will be saving her prosthetic teeth that she used during filming for Men Don't Cry as a souvenir. She pledged that if the ratings for the show reached 40 points, then she would wear the teeth and give Dayo and Dominic Lam (林嘉華) a kiss on the lips. Stephen was asked about recent rumours that they would be presenting an award for special achievement to Lydia Sum (沈殿霞). He admitted that this was the case and it had been decided two months ago and she was worthy of such an award. As for reports that he was backing Fala Chen (陳法拉) for an award over Bernice Liu (廖碧兒), Stephen said that this was the product of a creative writer and he is fully supportive of them both. credits: batgwa.
