  1. 5 days to Sg concert

pster.jpg David @ poster signing session. He looked much fresher & better or maybe just his confectionery clothes heehee but quite a good look.
EN06_006.jpg He drove the black Toyota himself but only a short distance. Altho the pink & blue balloons looked pretty, made the event looked like a car show >"<
pster2.jpg He cut his hair again *bad boy* but still he does looked a lot better. SHE was also nearby having promo & Hebe said she had already booked both days of his concert & even wanna be his backup singer. What's up with SHE? First Selena then Ella now Hebe is trying to hook up with David ^__^
winnie7.jpg Managed to find screencap of David & Winnie during recent TVBS show. Was gonna post pixs of David teaching Lin Chih Ling to play drums but better wait just in cos run out of pixs to post. Not often we get to see David @ so many events.
    pster3.jpg

o.o David tao? do u have any pix of this event?

  3. David sounded really good on Yes933, vry dreamy, such a sexy voice. He will not only have the rainforest stage but helicopter as well. Thought it was an Asian rainforest but actually he had in mind the South American rainforest in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Nvr seen it but always thought it was set in a desert. Anyway it was just part of being environmentally aware as the rainforests of the world are shrinking at an alarming rate.
toyota.jpg David also recorded 2 new VCRs just for the Spore concert. The tickets 80% sold with only $168 & $138 left. David assured that no matter where the seats, the audience will able to enjoy both sight & sound of the concert. After discussing the concert, the dj asked what r the things that annoy him & make him afraid. He said he can be afraid of roaches that fly I think cos I suddenly realised dun know what roaches sound like in chinese. But I guess its roaches cos he did mention they were coffee colored. It was funny cos when he said he dun really wanna kill them but had no choice, I suddenly remembered one can buy contraceptive for roaches in Sydney to prevent them from mutiplying. Then suppose still have to live with the existing ones till they died from old age, not a vry pleasant thought. Make me homesick for Sydney esp this time of the yr where walking past the greengrocer which had pine trees for sale, the smell of Christmas.
twcon.jpg Sry if I dun sound too excitable as trying to avoid the pain of not being at the concert this Sat. Life can be so unfair maybe destined nvr to see him in person. But as Wislawa Szymborska wrote:
Such certainty is beautiful, but uncertainty is more beautiful still
So I will definitely be there in spirit to support David. Below really nice feature in ST Life Section, love the title, David's diary getting more & more famous as even the dj @ 933 mentioned it as well ^__^

    All blogged up

    Media Reporter

David Tao wishes he has more time for his blog. The Hong Kong-born singer has been lagging behind in his monthly entries on his official website www.davidtao.com. The last post was dated Oct 26.
Fans would not blame him for that, as he has been travelling for his Love Can World Tour 2005.
The Singapore leg, which will be held on Saturday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, is his third stop after Shanghai and Beijing.
About 80 per cent of the seats are taken. Tickets priced at $78 and 108 are sold out leaving only those at $138 and $168 available.
On his online journal, Tao updates his fans about his life. Most of his entries are random thoughts about his work as an entertainer, his cat Malau and his penchant for cars.
In a recent phone interview with Life!, Tao gushes about the benefits of blogging: "It is a great, personal way to communicate. I can talk about my thoughts directly to my fans."
Most importantly, Tao hopes to give his take on speculative reports by the Taiwanese paparazzi. In his Sept 21 blog post, he lashed out at the tabloids, which had run pictures of him kissing two women other than his girlfriend, known only to the media as Joanne. He compared the Taiwanese media to German propagandists during the Nazi regime.
In a more recent run-in with the paparazzi, his private conversation with his manager was recorded secretly and used out of context. Tao says he has given up trying to clear the air.
"The media scene has become one that just revolves around unsubstantiated gossips and rumours. It is really unacceptable now," he laments. "I no longer care to retaliate or answer to them."
But Tao clarifies that the pecks for the women were merely 'goodbye kisses', and his relationship with Joanne remains strong.
Asked if the state of things has made him want to hasten his dream as a movie director, he says that he hopes to be one before the age of 40. He laughs and reveals that he is already thinking about a script.
"I have started to write some things for the movie I want to do, but it won't be that soon. Maybe after my ongoing concert tour, and my new album, scheduled to be out next year."
Tao promises the show on Saturday will be a visual treat. Sets and props will transform the stage into a South American jungle, complete with a life-size replica of a helicopter. He hopes his concert will raise awareness for social and environmental issues such as pollution and conservation.
He declines, however, to say if Joanna will be attending the show in Singapore.
Still, he just might let fans know when he updates his blog.
David Tao Love Can World Tour 2005 will be held this Saturday at 8pm at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Tickets priced at $78 and $108 have been sold out. Those at $138 and $168 are available from Sistic (tel: 6348 5555)

    The day after concert

Hope David had a successful concert ^__^ Updating online english feature @ The Electric New Paper:

He croons love songs, but R&B singer David Tao says: 'I'm a lousy lover'

PINK is the new David Tao
No doubt it's an unlikely colour for the Taiwan-based R&B maestro who is known to be serious and critical.
But he carried off his salmon pink T-shirt with cheer anyway, when he met The New Paper at Hyatt Hotel on Tuesday.
In town to rehearse his Love Can concert to be held tomorrow, David, 36, was clearly in a jovial mood.
He laughed easily and was almost frivolous as he fielded our questions about the love theme of his show.
    MIDNIGHT VISIT
When asked what is the wildest thing he has ever done for love, he dug into his memory and came up with something that happened when he was 16 years old and living in Los Angeles.
One day, he snuck out of his house past midnight to cycle 20 minutes to his girlfriend's house and chatted with her till morning.
But the trip home was arduous, he said, for he had to cycle uphill to get home, and then climbed up a ladder and crawl into his room on the second floor.
'My legs were so sore and I was hungry and tired,' he recalled with a grimace.
'My parents were sleeping but my mum knew I was out and I got reprimanded. I hid two pillows under my blanket, but she found out.'
    But he had no regrets.
He said: 'It was the first time I stayed out so late, but it was very romantic and liberating.'
When asked who the love of his life is, David named his parents and God.
Said the devout Christian: 'Girlfriends can change, and wives too, though I hope not. But my parents won't change.
'I don't spend as much time with them, but our bond is very strong.'
His folks both flew into Singapore - dad from Taipei and mum from Shanghai - to see him perform this time.
But David was quick to point out that he suspects they are here on a mini-honeymoon to celebrate their recent 38th wedding anniversary, and that his concert was an excuse for them to get him to pay for their holiday.
'My dad is quite sharp. It's been years since he last came to Singapore, and he said he wants to bring mum too.
'He provided the motive. I'm just the financial support.'
Is there a lady love in his life?
David claimed he is not seeing anyone, even though Taiwanese papers have gone to town with rumours of him romancing a woman known only as Joanna.
The workaholic insisted that he has neither the time nor devotion for a relationship.
'I'm a lousy lover because my brain is like everywhere,' he said, chuckling.
'I have too many things on my mind, and sometimes I try to multi-task too much. I've been told by girlfriends, 'Can you listen to me and pay attention?' And I'll be like, 'Oh, sure'.'
To get his attention, he said a woman has to leave him alone to do his stuff. Nagging or arguing with him will only irritate him.
    MONEY CAN'T BUY LOVE
In any relationship, David said he will never spoil his woman excessively with money, or splurge one quarter of his annual salary on a diamond ring for her.
'I don't want her to equate money with love. Everything I do is from my heart.'
Will he require his future wife to sign a pre-nuptial then, considering his sizeable fortune earned from selling millions of copies of albums and product endorsements?
Frowning, David said: 'That's kind of harsh and not so cool. Spoiling is okay to a degree, but men can be more creative and romantic than to rely on money.'

    Visual treats at David's concert
A HELICOPTER, a tropical rainforest, and the song Butterfly.
That is David Tao's promise to fans who show up at his Love Can concert tomorrow.
There will be flashy costumes, a replica chopper, a 'back to nature' backdrop, and great music backed by an eight-piece string orchestra.
David will also croon the highly-requested Butterfly because his Singapore fans have requested it repeatedly.
He said he wrote the song as a devotional piece to God, but rarely performs it live because the lyrics are 'too complicated' and difficult to remember.
Would he also strip and show off his six-pack abs?
David laughed: 'It all depends on the audience reaction. Screaming (for him to strip) for 10 seconds is not enough. At least 30 seconds to a minute!'

  5. David in 2006

spri7.jpg spri4.jpg More Shanghai Sprite pixs! He looked really good, vry handsome, but still not happy abt the hair color >"< *note to stylist: dark hair is better* heehee Also he lost weight again so should be careful with his health too with TW concerts coming up nxt mth. David was vry sry when he heard abt Jacky losing his voice & said that if it happened to him, he will be even more upset. Also there were sum technical glitches with the stage @ Taipei Arena & David hope they will be fixed before his concerts.
spri.jpg The devoted fan who gave him the long pink scarf, both ends reached the ground from his neck, must have taken her ages to knit it @__@
spri3.jpg He is really gorgeous when he laugh with abandon dun you think. Can almost feel the goodness & joy emanating from him, who needs Santa when he is around? Still what's December without a gift calendar of yr fav idol month by month? Maybe might do another one with Tension if I can find 12 pixs of them together. Also added another 2 animated gifs @ Interactive.
nov.jpg Anyway David back in Taipei & altho this time of yr singers make lotsa money performing in shows, he has rejected them as he wanted to prepare for the concerts nxt mth so can give his best to his TW audience. The concerts 90% sold & no word whether he will add another night. Capacity must be quite small, I would guess abt 15 thousand probably. Also Malaysia concert confirmed for the first part of 2006 which could mean that, if he still planning US concerts, it will be latter part of 2006. His new album scheduled to be released early 2006 as well so David will be vry busy. When asked abt his movie plans, David said he still thinking abt script which could either be comedy or drama but definitely not action cos its too expensive to film. David dun wanna have too big a budget for his first movie ^__~
