Curse of the Golden Flower is an exercise in deceit, betrayal, manipulation, rebellion, and murder. The film takes place in the 10th century, during the Later Tang Dynasty.
I saw this years ago and was amazed by the epic pageantry of the costumes and battles scenes; perhaps a bit over done but boy, what scenes. A good story with visuals that can only be described by superlatives.
