Anyone using Creatine in here? I use whey protein but I am too scared to try creatine. I heard it messes with your heart muscles?? Does anyone have side effects in here? Should I use it? Thank you
If you use creatine you have to use it right. That is, don't take too much of it. You also have to take it over a large scale of time. So basically, you need to cycle it. Take it one month, don't take it the next. Then take it again. The only real side effect you may have is that it will make your muscles bloated rather than lean.
Stay away if you are not willing to head to a gym after intake, because you will have excess fat atleast thats what my friend told me.
My roommate uses creatine but he works out quite frequently (like lifting weights about once a day). But I heard from another friend of mine that once you stop taking creatine your muscle mass decreases kinda fast.
Both are common mistakes. In short, what both of you are describing is creatine's tendency to increase water intake. You don't get excess fat; rather, it's excess water. And when you go off creatine, you look a bit flabby, since you're losing that excess water.
you got to consume more water...because your body retains it.. and there's a risk of kidney damage.. you are comsuming actual salt like crystals. I've personally been on them, and you do get result but is it worth jeopardizing? Taking protein is alreadi tremendous strain on your liver and kidney, now adding creatine? unless your competing i wouldn't recommend it for the amatuer. and you have to also question the purity of the creatine you buy in the can.. just like protein in a can, there's alot of debates of whether to banned as well.
Erm, there are no debates over whether creatine and protein should be banned. Both are natural substances found in various foods; creatine is found in meats, and proteins are found everywhere. There have been no major scientific evidence found supporting the fact the creatine is directly responsible for any health problems. Protein is a different matter, but those studies have only been done on people with high-protein diets (read, meat and fish), not people taking protein as a supplement.
I think the only supplement that is worth taking is vitamins. If you must take any extra, then go with 100 % whey protein ISOLATE. the vitamins help the body absobe the protein... faster
