Due to nearby construction work, the soil under the pavements must have been disappeared.
Leaving a perfect trap for not suspecting strollers -devil

Other explanation, Extra-terrestrials have build a military base under the street and that is their secret entrance.

So which one do you believe :shifty:

Er... FYI, there was no hole there when the street was paved. Sink holes form when unstable soil compacts itself (for a variety of reasons) beneath the finished surface structure of the pavement; in effect, leaving a solid looking but weak shell over the later developing sink hole. In fact, entire towns have been threatened to be swallowed up by these things. :ohnoes:

The one in Guatemala (center pic) was widely reportedly to be 330 feet deep (nearly twice the height of the Statue of Liberty) and swallowed up houses and several people (bodies were later recovered). :tear: Most people never understand or realize the importance of the substrate that their structures are built on. Some simply cannot be repaired and whole areas have been abandoned because of these things.

According to the link above, the Guatemalan sinkhole is only about 204 feet deep, not the initial 330 feet as widely reported. Still, it's a stark reminder of the power of the earth. More sink hole stories: http://webecoist.com/2008/08/26/incredible-strange-amazing-sinkholes/

And here's another take on sink holes, where they can be a sports adjunct:

And another very informative video, about a man made sink hole, which swallowed up a whole lake and island:
